This was going to be a post about Frost. The season’s first finally moved in on Friday night and we awoke to a mild, but pretty frost.
However, Sunday morning rolled around and- much to our shock- so did the first snow of the year. It’s so far only stuck to plants and trees. But this, folks, is EARLY! The average first snowfall is not until the first weeks of November. I feel a certain amount of vindication of my theory that winter would come hot on the heels of our first frost, but this is a bit of overkill.
Surely (one hopes) the temperatures will bounce back to something more Autumnal in a few days time, but this is a surefire reminder that our time in the garden is numbered. Best to get out there while we can!
That’s happened in my garden before, too. And yes, autumn did come back. But still, it’s not fun! Love your website design.

Thanks so much! It is all melted by now and the sun is back out (though it is still cold!). Hoping it warms up soon so I can finish up what needs doing!
